Sahara Desert Challenge for Shelter
To my family, friends, colleagues, co-workers and community:
I have been accepted to participate in an amazing trek across the Sahara Desert. This trek is to raise awareness and funds for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, violence against women and children as well as prevention programs across Canada. For 5 straight days, my colleagues from Royal LePage offices across Canada and I will be hiking up to 7 hours a day across difficult terrain in this hot and dry desert climate, with temperatures dropping considerably at night. We will be sleeping in large group tents, using camping-style bathroom facilities, and going without electricity, cell service and the other comforts of home. To be eligible to participate, I must raise at least $5,000. This journey will not be easy and it has already started for me. I will be preparing physically and mentally for months and will be covering my own travel costs. Each dollar we raise and every step we take will make it easier for women and children in our communities to walk safely away from violence.
I would absolutely love to have your support! I would like to beat my previous fundraising by $1 therefore am raising a minimum of $7004 to be able to attend this once in a life time journey. 80% of proceeds I raise go to the local shelter in Saskatoon called the Saskatoon Interval House. The remaining 20% of funds raised goes to domestic violence prevention and teen healthy relationship programs across Canada. I will be paying for my own trip in full.

Thank you for all of your support in advance. I will be sure to keep you all posted on my training journey and short trips throughout the next year!
